It has now been 15 years since the “Dajmo da čuju” charity event, which had moved Croatia in unprecedented ways, having gathered over 17 million HRK for the purchase of cochlear implants. This action has been the biggest in Croatian history since the amount collected has not been surpassed since.

The World of Sounds is a reminder of 2001, when almost everyone in Croatia joined hands to enable deaf children to step into the world of sounds.

The event was hugely successful: 178 cochlear implants were purchased. All of the surgeries were conducted in Croatia by Croatian doctors. The impact of the action has been tremendous, since it changed the perception of the problem of deafness among children in Croatia.

Interesting facts about hearing

The World of Sounds exhibition is divided into several units, through which the participants will be able to learn more about the biggest charity event in Croatia, about sound, and about the importance of early detection of hearing problems. Austrian company MED-El, manufacturer of cochlear implants, will enable the visitors to see and feel a cochlear implant, and to see the process of inserting a cochlear implant on video. The visitor will learn about the extremely important procedure of hearing rehabilitation and many other interesting facts related to hearing. The exhibition is interactive: the visitors will be able to test their hearing, learn more about hearing illusions and have their go at a computer audio game in which they’ll have to position the source of the sound in a 3D space. And that’s only part of the exhibition.
