As part of the World Book Night programme, the Typhlological Museum hosted promotion of the tactile and audio picture book “Slipper Keeper Kitty” by Slovenian author Ela Peroci. The event took place on the second floor of the Typhlological Museum, Draškovićeva 80, on Wednesday 23 April 2025 at 10 a.m.
We presented the first comprehensively adapted picture book intended for blind and visually impaired children in Croatia. The book is available in large print and Braille, as well as in audio format. The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Zagreb initiated adaptation of the picture book “Slipper Keeper Kitty” and the Typhlological Museum, in collaboration with associates, created concept and methodology to adapt one of the most significant and widely known children’s picture books in the region.
The picture book “Slipper Keeper Kitty” was presented by: Morana Vouk Nikolić from the Typhlological Museum, a representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Zagreb, Antonija Papić from the Croatian Association of the Blind, and Ljubica Letinić from Audio Store Transonica.
