On Friday 7 February 2025 at 5 p.m. the Typhlological Museum opened the exhibition “Tactilography”, showcasing works by 3rd grade students of the Photography Department, the School of Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb. Faced with the challenge of making photography accessible to blind and visually impaired individuals, students collaborated with the director of the Theatre for the Blind and Visually Impaired "New Life", Mr Vojin Perić, and the Typhlological Museum to explore new concepts of perception, creating tactile reconstructions of photographs.
Authors of the works are: Ivano Bukovina, Mirna Čondrić, Lana Čukić, Martin Pablo Estigarribia Villasanti, Sven Fritz, Ena Ilić, Vida Krlin, Iris Malla, Kate Mutić, Petra Paola Patajac, Petra Posavec, Josip Serdarušić, Farah Skender, Mia Starčević, Petra Tomaško, and Karla Zobenica.
The curator of the exhibition is Magda Karavanić and the mentors working with students are Aleksandra Mutić and Vojin Perić.
This exhibition is organised by the Typhlological Museum in collaboration with Izidor Kršnjavi Exhibition Hall.
The exhibition is open until 7 March 2025.
