Exhibition: A Touch of Art

Tactile paintings from the National Institute and the Museum of Bitola are on display at the Typhlological Museum

We present an exhibition at the Typhlological Museum called A Touch of Art, which displays tactile paintings from the National Institute and the Museum of Bitola, and which is open to visitors until May 2021. The exhibition is intended for blind and partially sighted people with the aim of bringing closer a part of the Macedonian cultural heritage to the visually impaired.
An integral part of the exhibition, in addition to tactile images, are texts written in Braille.

Five tactile representations of various objects are on display: Belt – buckle, Icon of St. Nicholas, painting "Portrait of a Girl", lamp, and a depiction of Archangel Michael.
Experts of various profiles from the Republic of Northern Macedonia and the Balkans (education and rehabilitation specialists, typhlologists, designers, curators...) participated in the selection and production of sensory images with the consulting assistance of blind people from the Association of the Blind in Bitola.

The project leader is Irena Ružin, PhD, from the National Institute and the Museum of Bitola.
