A faithful depiction of this animal, with good proportions and all the characteristic anatomical elements. The limbs are well-placed, and the bowed head and powerful back of the neck are continued along the tense line of the body. The sculpture is modelled by a solid hand leaving the impression that it was created effortlessly, almost in “one breath”. This is one of the best works from the author’s mature animalistic phase.
